C. L. Farnsworth's Biography

C. L. Farnsworth is a native of Arizona since her birth in Phoenix in 1957. Home for her, however, is the Northeastern Arizona area of Holbrook which has been the land of her mother's family for six generations. Her husband's work in underground mines in Arizona, Utah, Nevada, and Montana kept the family away from family roots, but in the year 2000 she bought property from her family. Now her home sits on part of her great Grandfather's old homestead who was himself a stonemason and fiddle player. Her family has a long line of artists; many were carvers, painters, singers, musicians and poets.

She has been married for 27 years and has 4 children. Her family, faith, friends, home and art are the most important things in her life. She paints, draws, carves and sculpts for the joy that these things bring her. She is for the most part self taught but has learned from watching friends around her. She really just started oil painting in 2000, but has drawn with pen and pencil, carved in stone and sculpted with clay since a very early age.

Farnsworth is crazy about the wildlife and the wild places that are in abundance all around her in the west. She is fascinated with wonders of the rest of the world especially Africa. This is her subject matter - the amazing world around her and her family.
